In an effort to continuously maximize operational efficiency and reduce waste, WOM India has installed a new Trepanning Tool machine. The machine will facilitate the process of producing a cylinder from a block of metal. Since, trepanning tools remove a solid core of material by cutting around it rather than cutting out the entire area to be drilled there are less shavings. Thus, allowing the machinist to continually work and oversee the drilling instead of having to remove and reinsert the drill. This machine also has a faster cutting rate due to less amount of metal being cut; requires less power for the same size of hole to be cut and the cylinder removed can be reused for other products, resulting as a big advantage when cutting expensive alloys.
