Manual Welder

Worldwide Oilfield Machine (WOM) is a globally recognized, multinational company that was established in 1980 with its headquarters based in Houston, Texas. We are currently looking for a qualified Manual Welder for our Canemont facility. Candidates will perform welding work involving a high degree of precision and craftsmanship.


• Manual GTAW (tig) or SMAW (stick) welding process
• Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam
• May use grinders and other hand tools
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials
• Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
• Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude
• Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
• Must be able to operates basic pipe and tube cutting equipment
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc. with minimal supervision
• Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position
• Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Ensures compliance and maintaining the processes/procedures of the WOM management systems, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Comply with all environmental, health and safety rules


• High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent
• Technical school or vocational program is a plus
• Must pass plate weld exam
• Must pass vision test
• 3-5 years of welding experience preferred
• Must be able to qualify in accordance with ASME, BPVC: Section IX, Article III.
• Visual Acuity Testing that meets the applicable requirements of ASNT SNT-TC1A
• Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings for layout and welding and perform mathematical computations.
• Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others or environment.
• Must be able to tolerate seasonally hot and cold working environment.
